JONATHAN BENSTED - Founder Director
Jonathan is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer specialising in hydropower engineering and renewable energy development. He founded Dragon Hydro in 2008 having worked on project search and selection, screening and analysing potential projects in North Wales, before partnering with Gary Markham to develop the Cadair hydropower project. Jonathan subsequently developed and constructed further alternative energy projects in Chile. As Project Director at Consorcio Santa Marta in Santiago, he was responsible for the development and construction of a 16MW waste to energy project. In partnership with Icafal Inversiones, he most recently delivered a 6MW ROR hydropower plant in the Maule region. Both plants are now injecting power into the Chilean national grid. Jonathan holds a Master of Engineering Science degree from Oxford University.

GARY MARKHAM - Founder Director
Gary has been a partner in Grant Thornton UK LLP Chartered Accountants for the past 20 years, specialising in strategic management and capital tax advice for high net worth clients with rural interests. He originally trained in Agriculture and Rural Land Management and subsequently obtained a post graduate qualification in Advanced Farm Management. He has managed farming businesses for pension funds, worked for the National Farmers Union, Barclays Bank and lectured in management at an agricultural college in Australia. Gary is a partner in a 2,000 acre family farming business in Snowdonia, North Wales. He writes regularly for many national farming publications and lectures at a national level on agricultural related topics.

CHRISTOPH RUEDIG - Investor Director
Christoph is an Investment Manager at Albion Ventures focused on investments in the Environmental and Healthcare Sectors. He initially practiced as a radiologist, before spending 3 years at Bain & Company. In 2006 he joined 3i working for their Venture Capital arm. Most recently he has worked for General Electric UK, where he was responsible for mergers and acquisitions in the medical technology and IT sectors. He holds a degree in medicine from Ludwig-Maximilians University, Munich and an MBA from INSEAD.

DAVID ROBERTS - MorbenHydro
David Roberts is an independent consultant and founder of Morben Hydro which has advised Dragon Hydro throughout the development process. David has worked in the hydro industry for over 15 years, as an independent hydro engineer for 5 years and previously with Dulas Ltd. David has extensive experience in all aspects of mini-hydro development, engineering, construction and operation having implemented various schemes up to 1 MW capacity in UK and Ireland. David is project manager for the scheme.

DANIEL TABIRI - Crowe Clark Whitehill
Daniel is a Fellow of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA) and a senior member of the Business Solutions Group of Crowe Clark Whitehill LLP in Kent. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Political Science from the University of Ghana. He has for many years provided business advisory and compliance services to businesses of all sizes and industries in the UK. Daniel has managed teams to deliver on various projects in areas of management accounting, VAT, corporate reporting and corporate taxes. He has developed extensive expertise in providing management solutions to enterprises utilising hydro, wind and solar technologies in the renewable energy sector. Daniel’s continued support has and will be a vital part of making a success of the Cadair hydropower project.
